Expectations of Children’s House Families
All families are expected to participate in each of the activities described below.

Annual House Fund
Parents, grandparents, faculty, friends and alumni are asked to participate in the annual House Fund. Each family is expected to contribute to this fund drive each year. Our goal is 100% participation. Donations allow the school to continue its history of excellence and to build upon what others before us have made possible to today’s families. Funds are used to enhance the school in ways that make a significant impact in our programming and in facility improvements.

Celebration of Cultures
On the first Saturday in December each year, we celebrate the rich cultural diversity of Children’s House families. This special event for the whole family includes a world tour of tables representing our different countries and cultures, live performances, crafts, and a bake sale. Families can sample treats from different countries, learn a new word or phrase, and complete a special passport. Many volunteers are needed to facilitate the success of this fun family occasion.

Monte-Soirée
This annual spring auction supports the Children’s House Tuition Assistance Program. This adult only event is in the late spring and needs many volunteers to reach its goals. Our families are asked to participate in securing items or services which can be auctioned. Area businesses have been very supportive of our annual auction, and our families are exceptionally creative in designing their own “auction items.”
Volunteer Opportunities
Children’s House recognizes that parents are the principle influence in their children’s lives. We welcome and expect parent involvement for the successful operation of this school. Because we recognize the many demands that are placed on families’ time, we offer varied levels of involvement opportunities. We expect that each family will be involved in the life of the school in some of the following ways:
- Attend Parent Open House, Parent-Teacher Conferences and other social events
- Drive for K-Club field trips
- Give time in our outdoor classroom, in the classroom, or behind the scenes preparations
- Chair an event or project committee
- Assist with fundraising
- Serve as a member of our Board of Directors
Note for the 2022-23 school year: Volunteer opportunities will be limited to what is safe and appropriate for our community at this time.
