Expectations of Children’s House Families
All families are expected to participate in each of the activities described below.
Annual House Fund
We invite all parents, grandparents, faculty, friends, and alumni to join us in supporting The Children’s House of Nashville. Every family is encouraged to contribute to our Annual House Fund to ensure our school’s continued excellence. Our goal is to achieve 100% participation, as your donations play a vital role in enhancing our programs and making significant facility improvements. Together, we can build on the legacy of those before us and provide the best education for today’s families.
Celebration of Cultures
On the first Saturday in December each year, we come together to celebrate the vibrant tapestry of cultures at The Children’s House of Nashville. This special event is a true reflection of our diverse community, showcasing the rich traditions, languages, and customs that make us who we are. As you embark on a world tour of tables representing different countries and cultures, you’ll experience live performances, interactive crafts, and a delectable selection of treats from around the globe. Join us for a day of exploration, connection, and appreciation for the global family that we are.

The Monte-Soireé
The Monte-Soireé is an annual event that supports the Children’s House Tuition Assistance Program. This adult-only extravaganza takes place in the late spring and relies on the help of many volunteers to achieve its goals. Our families are invited to contribute by securing unique items or services for auction. The local business community has been incredibly supportive, and our families are known for their exceptional creativity in designing their own one-of-a-kind ‘auction items’. Don’t miss out on this unforgettable evening of fun, fundraising, and community spirit!
Parent Involvement
Children’s House recognizes that parents are the principle influence in their children’s lives. We welcome and expect parent involvement for the successful operation of this school. Because we recognize the many demands that are placed on families’ time, we offer varied levels of involvement opportunities. We expect that each family will be involved in the life of the school in some of the following ways:
- Attend Orientation, Parent-Teacher Conferences and school social events
- Observe in your child’s classroom
- Volunteer in your child’s classroom, in our outdoor classroom, or with behind the scenes preparations
- Chair an event or project committee
- Volunteer as a room parent for your child’s classroom
- Assist with fundraising
- Serve as a member of our Board of Directors
